Climate change, food security and disability inclusion

Based on a brand new report, the Atlas Alliance invites you to a seminar on climate change, food security and disability inclusion in Hammersborggata 9 in Oslo on 28 March from 13.00-15.00. The event will also be streamed.
Climate change is affecting food production and security all over the world, and particularly in the global south.
The National Union of Disabled persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) and consultant Ben Buzisori, have produced a report for the Atlas Alliance on Climate change, food secuity and disability inclusion in Uganda, Mozambique and Ethiopia.

We now invite all interested to a seminar on these important topics. The seminar is both virtual and in person, and takes place in Hammersborggata 9 in Oslo (next door to the Atlas Alliance) from 13.00-15.00 CET on Tuesday 28 March.

PROGRAMME:
In the first part of this seminar, Mr Ben Buzisori will present the main findings of the report.
In the second part, Norad will present their work for inclusive food security; NUDIPU, Caritas and the Development Fund will talk about their efforts for inclusion in development cooperation and disaster risk reduction, and there will be a presentation on disability inclusion in humanitarian efforts by a participant which is yet to be confirmed. More info on this mystery participant soon!
Part three is a panel discussion between the presenters. The panelists will touch upon what DPOs and NGOs can and must learn from eachother and about inclusion, how we can leap-frog over experiences that other marginalised groups have had to make, and how we can work together to ensure that climate finance funds reach persons with disabilities – particularly in a food security and long term perspective.
