Vi i Latin-Amerikagruppene i Norge aksjonerer for Repparfjorden, naturen, urfolk og liv.
I anledning av vårt solidaritetsbrigadeprosjekt har Rosario Pascual (LAG) fra Guatemala besøkt Norge. Rosario er aktiv i CUC og medlem av CONAVIGUA, to av LAGs samarbeidspartnere i Guatemala.
Markeringen fra 2. september i Oslo viste avsky mot Norges miljøpolitikk og Stortingets beslutninger i saken. Den trakk frem viktige temaer, blant annet Norges avtaler med internasjonale selskap som bryter med urfolks rettigheter.
Rosario holdt en treffende appell under aksjonen i Oslo. Her er noe av det hun sa:
«From the Maya K’iche’ people, and from the different Indigenous peoples who coexist in Iximulew, Guatemala, we join this struggle for Repparfjord. This is a struggle that belongs to all of us, a struggle that is global.
This is a struggle for the protection of territory—not the geographic boundaries that have been imposed on us, but rather the ancestral forms of production; the guardian of collective history; it is identity, it is temporality, it is life.
This problem is only a reflection of how the life of financial capital, because of its expansionist nature, is sustained through the destruction of the environment and through racism, which is nothing more than a system of domination and has always been the main global mechanism to justify exploitation.
This is not only a case of commodification, but of extermination—of our ancestral sciences.
That is why we are here today: as an act of resistance, as a way to say that we existed and were not exterminated.
With the guidance of those who protected, cultivated, and loved the territories,
Today we have the mission to raise our voices from different places, but together as one.
No to the destruction of Mother Earth, no to genocide and ethnocide, no to the colonization of peoples, no to the investment in war, no to the dumping of mines into the sea.
Hope exists as long as we listen to the Earth.»
Rosario sa etterpå at «det hun ønsket å formidle var at logikken bak skaden som påføres og som noen ønsker å øke i Repparfjord, er en global logikk som rammer fra Abya Yala (Amerika) til Sápmi. Aktivistenes innsats er i dette tilfellet en innsats for hele verden, mot utvinning, plyndring og kolonialisme», forklarte hun før hun med klar stemme slo fast at deltakelsen fra ulike personer fra forskjellige nasjoner i denne saken er en handling av samling.
Appellen er en analogi til hvordan kjettingene som brukes i aksjonene for å hindre det gruveindustrielle arbeidet mot naturen, selv om de blir kuttet, vil bli satt på plass igjen og igjen, så lenge det er nødvendig.

Vi mener at når Rosario taler fra urfolks erfaringer i Guatemala, knytter hun bånd til samiske og norske kamper for rettferdighet og vern av livsgrunnlaget vårt.
Rosario har oppholdt seg i Norge i flere måneder for å gjøre informasjonsarbeid sammen med LAG i regi av deres brigadeprosjekt. Hun har besøkt Sametinget, oppholdt seg på norske gårder, besøkt organisasjoner, lokallag og arbeidsgrupper. Hun har møtt politikere, arrangert åpne møter og reist landet rundt for å formidle viktige erfaringer og budskap fra Guatemala. Hun har gjort det for å styrke solidariske bånd med Norge og fremheve bønders, arbeideres og urfolks kamper i sitt hjemland.
Rosario har vært i Repparfjorden i to omganger bare i år, og hun kom tilbake til Oslo så sent som forrige uke. Latin-Amerikagruppene i Norge (LAG) stiller seg bak kravene om å forby gruvedumping og at Norge trekker tilbake utslippstillatelsen til Nussirgruva.
